The Good Routines Matter Mission
The Good Routines Matter Mission is to inspire retirees to define, create, and implement good daily routines to help them get healthier and feel better using mindset, movement, and maybe even cannabis.
We know that when we leave the workforce there’s a loss of structure but Good Routines Matter helps redefine that structure so it works for you in life after retirement.
That’s why I developed the 3 Components for a Healthy Routine.
By purposefully incorporating these elements into your daily routine, you can take an active role in improving your physical and mental well-being.
Your most important job is to take great care of yourself, and that begins with Good Routines.
How We’ll Work Together To Create Your Healthy Routines — so you can enjoy life after retirement.
I coach clients both in person and online via Zoom. When I work with clients in person, meetings take place in Toledo, Ohio, and surrounding areas.

The Good Routines Matter Origin Story: My personal experience
I am living proof that identifying and creating a new routine can be an effective way to bridge the gap left when leaving the workforce to enter retirement. I have prioritized incorporating these three elements into my regular daily routine and working the rest of the day around them.
Good Routines Matter is rooted in personal experience. I learned the hard way, so you don't have to. But thankfully, my story has a happy ending.
Incorporating a good daily routine has changed my life.
And that’s why I’m so very passionate about helping other retirees define and make changes to get them feeling alive, vibrant, and in control again. (It’s also why I share a fundamental knowledge of cannabis medicine so that they can make informed decisions about utilizing cannabis products that could improve their lives too!)
Yes, I have been in your shoes.
And in 2022, I retired from my career job of 22 years to pursue a calling and start my own business.
When I decided to leave my job, I had checked off all the financial boxes of “Are you able to retire.” But I really hadn’t checked the boxes that had to do with any other health or wellness considerations.
And quite frankly, I didn’t know I had to.
No one ever really mentioned it.
So, when I started this new journey, I did not have any daily routine in place.
Leaving the structure of my job took me out of my routine. 18 months later, I found myself at the heaviest weight ever.
While I was working on building my new business, I had settled into a routine of taking care of the household and family. But, this new routine I had fallen into was not a healthy routine for me.
I had gained weight because I was not prioritizing my well-being, and my daily activity had changed since my schedule changed.
At that same time, I was witnessing my elderly parents' health decline.
My father was in and out of hospitals with medical issues several times a year. One day, while visiting him in the hospital, I was listening to him moan in pain as he did each time he did things like get up to walk to the bathroom.
That is when it hit me — If he had taken the time to take better care of himself each day like it was his new job in retirement, he would not be suffering so much in these moments.
I realized I did not want to suffer in that way. And I started to take a hard look at where I really was and how I needed to start taking charge of my own life. I had a coming to Jesus meeting with myself to define and take steps to make the necessary changes.
While defining and taking steps to make the necessary changes, I realized that there were many other retirees in my life who were experiencing the very same thing.
That is when I realized that retirees need help creating good retirement routines.
And Good Routines Matter was born.
3 Key Components Of Good Routines
By purposefully incorporating what I define as the three elements of a healthy routine into your daily life, you can take an active role in improving your physical and mental well-being.
This approach becomes especially important in retirement, which can truly be the golden years of your life.
With the freedom from the demands of full-time work, you have the opportunity to delve deeply into what brings you joy and fulfillment.
Tending to Your Body
From how you move your body to how you fuel it and even how you heal it, caring for your body is a key part of your life after retirement.
This pillar includes Food, Movement, and Medicine.
Connecting to Community
From those we live with and those we live near to those we can’t bear to live without, our connections to others help us to thrive and find a sense of purpose in life beyond our 9-5.
Community routines might involve our Family, Friends, Neighbors and Local Organizations.
Making Time for Self-Care
Time alone and time devoted to the things we enjoy can help us to foster our deepest sense of self and that can help us to reach the goals that matter most to us.
This pillar includes Time for Self, Hobbies, Meditation, and Reflection.
My Cannabis Health Journey
I have always had a great appreciation for cannabis and have enjoyed it for my entire adult life.
I was 19 years old when I was first introduced to it, and I very much enjoyed the pleasant euphoria and sense of relaxation it promoted, along with the heightened sensory perception and joy.
Even with that enjoyment, the role cannabis would play in my career came unexpectedly.
It came as a calling…
In 2020, I received a spiritual message that changed the course of my life.
After work one day, I stopped to visit a friend of mine who was battling cancer. While I was there, she ended up sharing her amazing cannabis oil story with me.
I was mesmerized as she explained that she had been taking a protocol of concentrated cannabis oil (that someone made for her in a crock-pot in their kitchen) for several months and that her most recent test results indicated that she no longer had signs of cancer in her body.
Listening to the details of her story and hearing the relief and appreciation in her voice was inspiring.
I left her house, overjoyed at this news.
As I was driving down the dark highway homeward bound, something amazing happened.
In a moment of complete gratitude for my friend’s good news, I declared out loud, “Thank you, Lord!”
As soon as I said it, I heard a voice in my head say, “You can help people.”
Surprised, amused, and a little confused, I blurted out, “Um, Lord, are you telling me to help people with Mary Jane?”
As soon as I finished speaking, I immediately heard the same voice in my head again say, “You can help people!”
At that moment, my life changed.
I became determined to pursue my calling and learn about cannabis as medicine.
I began researching, and a few months later, I found myself enrolled in the Cannabis Coaching Institute to become a Certified Cannabis Health and Wellness Coach.
The knowledge I have amassed in the years since that moment has transformed my life.
I now make several different cannabis products for the benefit of myself and my family.
Using the dose layering philosophy, I layer different types of cannabis products to successfully address all my wellness needs, including anxiety, joint pain, post-hysterectomy symptoms of chronic pain, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood swings…and, of course, relaxing and unwinding.
Today, I am prescription-free and continue to use cannabis medicine to address all my wellness needs.
My passion is to empower people with the knowledge of cannabis medicine so they can make informed healthcare decisions.
I hope that by sharing my experiences and successes with others, they will be encouraged to make necessary changes to improve their aging experience too.
What People Are Saying
"Thank YOU! The coaching you provide has been truly enlightening on so many levels. The way you consistently explain the intricacies of how cannabis interacts with our bodies, and the beneficial impacts of CBD and CBG, has been invaluable. These explanations are clear and make it easy to understand that these substances can bring about positive effects without inducing a feeling of lethargy or an unwanted 'high.' Your knowledge and experience are crucial in debunking the misinformation associated with this God-given plant. Cannabis has so many medicinal properties, and it works effectively. The education I've received from your sessions is helping to shift the prevailing narrative from associating cannabis with being 'high' to recognizing it as a path to 'health'. Please, keep going with your exceptional work. The crucial education you provide on this natural medicine is an absolute must for everyone." — K.F.

I’ve got two personal mottos: I treat others the way I want to be treated. And I find it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
I’ve got a big heart, protect those I love fiercely, and if I can help someone in some way, I will find a path to do so.
I’ve been working with cannabis to address my anxiety and hormonal needs for over 20 years, and it’s been a fantastic healing plant for me.
I’ve been playing volleyball for forty years.
I’m also a bit of a smart-ass. I can dish it, and I can take it.
And I live by my unwavering personal faith.
This faith tells me that we’re here for a reason and that we connect with others for a distinct, valuable reason as well.
